One thing I've noticed is that this wordle contains a lot of happy words like life, love, child, wife, and mother, together with a lot of negative words like devil, ghost, witch, and miserable on Earth. This combination of the good and the bad can also be seen in The Scarlett Letter as Hester's adultery produces something good, Pearl, and something bad, the letter. Pearl is commonly described as being the letter given life, showing that Pearl and the letter are considered two parts of the same whole, a good part and a bad part, similarly to how good and bad words make up one wordle.
The quote "miserable on earth" basically sums up the novel as it stands so far: Hester has committed a sin that she doesn't exactly regret, but more regrets the punishment she now has to face, the fact that no one will associate with her except her own daughter. As much as she wants to be happy she is locked into a cage formed by the scarlet letter, which makes her miserable on earth.
Family words such as "child" and "wife" are strewn throughout the wordle along with "love" being the largest word. Although Hester seems to love her daughter since Pearl is referred to as "her mother's only treasure", she also sees a darkness in her child. Darker words such as "devil", "ghost", and "witch" are also present in the wordle. The combination of love for family and fear of evil witches and devils in this wordle mirrors the relationship between Hester and Pearl.
The word in this Wordle "Devil" is something that is really important in the Scarlet Letter so far. The community that the story takes place in is super religious and dependent on the Church to make decisions on how certain people should be treated and religious officials like Dimmesdale have heavy influence over the towns folk. Dimmesdale is seemingly all holy and pure to most of the towns people except for Chillingworth and Pearl. Chillingworth has been torturing Dimmesdale mentally by making him suffer for the deeds he has done (cheating with Hester). A demonic and devilish deed in the town that could be punishable by something as bad as death especially for a minister. Yet to the citizens Dimmesdale has only semmed more modest by saying at sermons that he has been bad and done bad things. Pearl has seemed to realized that Dimmesdale is evil by trying to protect her mother Hester from seeing him. The mark that Chillingworth found on Dimmesdale's chest could very well be a scarlet letter of his own that is being covered up, for some terrrible deed that he does not want everyone to know about. Well now it is too late because Chillingworth has found out and the Devil might evetually have Dimmesdale back if the towns people find out and choose to kill him. Anyways, awesome choices in this word collage!
